CYP2C18 wt Allele Definition

Human CYP2C18 wild-type allele is located within 10q24 and is approximately 53 kb in length. This allele, which encodes cytochrome P450 2C18 protein, plays a role in the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. It is also involved in the metabolism of drugs and xenobiotics.
