Human FRAP1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1p36.2 and is approximately 156 kb in length. This allele, which encodes FKBP12-rapamycin complex-associated protein, is involved in translational control and the regulation of ribosome biogenesis. The FRAP1 gene is associated with polycystic kidney disease.
