Foam Dosage Form Definition

A lightweight material in cellular form containing therapeutically active ingredient(s). Foam is made by introducing gas bubbles during the manufacturing process or upon activation of an appropriate valve system of the product packaged under pressure. Foam dressings, pre-formed foam pads, and cavity conforming foam dressings are classified here.
