GM-CSF cDNA-Gold Complex Definition

Expression vectors containing the complementary DNA (cDNA) of the cytokine granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) coated onto gold particles. A protein cytokine secreted by T-cells and macrophages following cell activation by antigens or mitogens, GM-CSF is indispensable for the growth and development of granulocyte and macrophage progenitor cells. Subsequently, GM-CSF has been shown to activate and stimulate proliferation of mature macrophages and lymphocytes. (NCI04)
