Human IFNGR2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 21q22.11 and is approximately 35 kb in length. This allele, which encodes interferon-gamma receptor beta chain protein, plays a role in both innate immune responses to viral infection and host defense. The allele also is involved in the interferon gamma signal transduction pathway.
