Human IL8RA wild-type allele is located within 2q35 and is approximately 4 kb in length. This allele, which encodes high affinity interleukin-8 receptor A protein, plays a role in pro-inflammatory cytokine activation, chemoattraction and activation of neutrophils and G-protein activated second messenger signal transduction.
