ITGB5 wt Allele Definition

Human ITGB5 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3q21.2 and is approximately 124 kb in length. This allele, which encodes integrin beta-5 protein, is involved in cell-extracellular adhesion, intercellular adhesion and receptor-mediated signal transduction. Variant alleles are associated with several cancers such as glial tumors and gastric carcinomas.
