Human LCP1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 13q14.3 and is approximately 56 kb in length. This allele, which encodes plastin-2 protein, is involved in actin dynamics and cytoskeletal rearrangement. Aberrant expression has been correlated with tumorigenesis in solid tissues.
