Propoxyphene Napsylate-Acetaminophen Definition

A combination preparation of propoxyphene napsylate and acetaminophen, with analgesic and antipyretic activities. Propoxyphene napsylate is a mild narcotic analgesic that binds to mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system (CNS), thereby mimicking the effect of endogenous opioids. Acetaminophen possesses analgesic and antipyretic effects by interfering with prostaglandin synthesis.
