SSTR4 wt Allele Definition

Human SSTR4 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 20p11.2 and is approximately 1 kb in length. This allele, which encodes somatostatin receptor type 4 protein, is involved in adenylate cyclase inhibition by G protein signal transduction and in the activation of both arachidonate release and MAP kinase cascade.
