Shortening Fraction Definition
A way of measuring performance of left ventricle. It measures and ratios the change in the diameter of the left ventricle between the contracted and relaxed states: the difference between LV end-diastolic diameter and LV end-systolic diameter over LV end-diastolic diameter.
