Human ZAP70 wild-type allele is located within 2q12 and is approximately 26 kb in length. This allele, which encodes ZAP70 protein, plays a role in the mediation of signal transduction involving cellular effectors in lymphocyte activation. ZAP70 ab gene aberrations cause Selective T-Cell Defect disease.
